Paint Polishing and Enhancement - Exterior Only Detailing Options
Jump To: Ceramic Coatings Info Page - Ceramic Coatings Options & SystemX
Paint correction is a term that is commonly used by Automotive Detailers worldwide to describe the process of restoring and rejuvenating the paintwork of a vehicle. Actually eliminating surface imperfections, that dull, oxidize, or haze the surface by reflecting light off in various directions, therefore detracting from a true and proper, clean, sharp, reflection. These imperfections include things like swirl marks & fine scratches, bird dropping etching & acid rain etching, hologramming & buffer trails, and random isolated deep scratches. (Please see bottom of page for more info on paint correction)
Paint Reconditioning Services
With paint reconditioning, we start with a full 2 bucket hand wash, decontamination process, clay bar process, and hand drying on the entire vehicle. Then, we use a single stage polishing process to remove nearly all the oxidation from the paint's surface. We typically remove approximately 50% or more of minor swirl marks on the paint and even some minor blemishes. We restore the shine and luster your paint came with when it was new. The finished surface is smooth, shiny, and very glossy. We protect this finish with with a quality sealant. This is a great option for most customers looking to restore the shine to their vehicle again. Door jambs, wheels, tires, and trim are cleaned and protected as well. Glass is cleaned.

Paint Enhancement - 2 stage
With paint enhancement, we start with a full 2 bucket hand wash, decontamination process, clay bar process, and hand drying on the entire vehicle. Then, we use a dual stage compounding & polishing process. The first step is to remove most minor scratches and blemishes, and we strive to remove between 75%-85% of swirl marks on the paint's surface. With all of the oxidation removed, and the majority of blemishes and swirl marks gone, we move to the 2nd step of polishing... the finishing step. This makes the paint is extremely glossy and smooth again. You may just think it’s an entirely new car! The color will be deeper and richer, and metallic finishes will have that ‘pop’ once again! We recommend a ceramic coating for protection after this service, but will also finish with a paint sealant.
Door jambs, wheels, tires, and trim are cleaned and protected as well. Exterior glass is cleaned with an option for coating. We also have options for polishing and coating door jambs, wheels, wheel wells, and restoring and protecting trim.

Ceramic Spray Sealants
We have two different levels of Ceramic Spray Sealants that we use based on the vehicle and detail provided. We have our standard 6-8 month ceramic based sealant, and our 8-12 month SystemX Ceramic Spray which is available as an upgrade on any package.
Waxes & Sealants
A typical carnauba or Montan based wax, when applied properly, will provide approx. 3-4 months of protection from UV Rays, minor contamination, and minor fallout. A quality sealant (think; synthetic wax) will typically provide approx. 4-6 months of protection from UV Rays, minor contamination, and minor fallout.
CERAMIC COATINGS
(not to be confused with ceramic spray sealants)
Please check our our Ceramic Coatings page for more info on all of the coatings we offer. Ceramic Coatings can last upwards of 8-10 years!!! Not months… YEARS!! We always recommend Ceramic after any type of paint reconditioning, paint enhancement, or paint correction services.

PAINT CORRECTION
The term "paint correction" should only be used if these imperfections are properly removed and are not just merely covered up or hidden with filler based products. The actual corrective process itself comprises of a small amount of clear coat or paint being removed from the surface with the use of abrasive compounds/polishes, which are applied and worked in with appropriate polishing machines, in order to level out the surface. A true Paint Correction Specialist will finish the paint without compromising the clear coat and pigment while leaving a near perfect finish.
When deciding which Detailing Specialist is right for you, make sure to ask how much experience they have, type of products and the type of machinery used during the process. Also, they should ask to consult and thoroughly inspect the vehicle with you before the appointment a made for anything more than a basic polishing session. For more information feel free to contact us.
When you hear "we can remove 90% of swirls & scratches with our basic 1 step polish" you need to step back and realize that when something seems too good to be true, it probably is! Unless your vehicle is NEW, removing 90% of swirls is a tedious task, not commonly accomplished with a basic polish. We are happy to consult with you, and your vehicle, on what to expect from each of our polishing options!
